Betty Bowers Obituary, Death – Betty Jewell Bowers, a beloved resident of Samson, AL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, in the comfort of her home at the age of 94. Her life will be honored and remembered during a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 1717 Oak Grove Rd, Westville, FL, 32464. The service will be directed by Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL, officiated by Jewell’s Grandson-in-Law, Tony Wilson, and Reverend Jimmy Eddins.
In tribute to Betty’s life, her family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Weeks Memorial Assembly of God at 263 Harvest Time, Samson, AL 36477, in place of floral arrangements.
Betty was born on Monday, July 19, 1929, in Darlington, FL, to the late Andy Lee and Rachel Hall Johnson. She held a deep affection for her family and found immense joy in fostering connections with others through fellowship. Betty’s life was defined by her unwavering love and devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Rev. Kermit R Bowers, her parents, and nine siblings, each leaving an indelible mark on her heart and in the hearts of those who knew them.
Betty’s legacy of love, kindness, and familial devotion will forever resonate within the lives she touched. Her absence will be deeply felt by family, friends, and the community.
